Reflections: Looking Back

Wow these past 7 weeks have gone by so fast! I surprisingly really like this class! I have taken a few online classes before and they have always been the worst. I am still struggling with scheduling, but it's better each week.

I really enjoy being able to express myself through stories. I forgot how fun it truly is to create something from your imagination. It has really helped me destress during weeks of nonstop news writing.

My favorite thing about this class is exploring all the fun folktales we have learned as kids and know where they come from. I also like comparing different cultures to see the similarities and differences we all have.

I'm letting my inner child out for this class.

  1. I am there with you! I had no idea how fun this class was going to be. As you know, I'm a Professional Writing Major, so writing stories is my thing, but I had no idea I was going to get to READ stories and WRITE stories in this class! I love mythology, so incorporating that with creative writing is literally the best class, in my humble opinion.

I bet getting a break from news writing is nice! I mean, I even enjoy getting a break from my novels tha I'm writing. Plus, how cool is it that we have so many short stories that we can say we've written? I think that it will be good resume material!

Finally, the picture that you put at the end is really cool!

  2. I absolutely know what you mean about trying to get ahead. Every time I try to get ahead it just doesn't. happen. I do like the freedom I get from this class. This class has been a little eye opening for me. I like to see where each story that I have heard before comes from. It's kind of cool to see how the different cultures' stories are similar too. Sometimes I feel like I have read a story and I probably read a similar one in a different unit. I hope you find the creativity because I need it too!
